For over three decades, Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis has proudly offered comprehensive steam turbine service for the refurbishment of steam turbine-generators.

Whenever possible, power plant owners prefer to plan for major turbine outages that involve gas turbine overhauls. However, forced gas turbine outages do occur and too often result in the need for expedited engineering response and immediate turbine outage services.

MD&A offers outage planning and technical direction.  We provide clients with skilled labor, engineering and the technical experts necessary to address both planned and forced outages of all types of turbines and generators. Our technical directors and project managers are available 24 hours a day.

Our mechanical engineers are specialists in turbine-generator engineering, and can help identify and quantify performance problems with on-site steam path audits, or thermodynamics analysis.

With computer engineered solutions that address issues associated with an aging turbine fleet, our experts use finite element analysis to precisely model turbine components and determine the root cause of component issues and to evaluate the remaining life shells, rotors, valves, and other integral parts subject to high thermal stress factors.

MD&A can also complete center-line installations of turbine-generator sets manufactured by nearly all OEMs.

Our alignment experts can provide customers with a reliable method of measuring and aligning gas turbine components with Topless Alignment Services®, Operational Alignment Diagnostics (CMM System), and coupling laser alignment, along with vibration analysis and balance (low-speed & high-speed.) This team also offers Turbine Foundation Monitoring.

Our field machining capabilities include the ability to on-site or in-shop repair damaged valves, rotors, horizontal joints on turbine casings, and nearly any rotating or stationary turbine-generator component.

Utilizing our mobile containerized machine shops, MD&A Parts Division offers custom installation of any packing ring or tip seal.

Our specialized service capabilities also include Control and Excitation Field Engineering, Consulting & Training. MD&A Control Systems division maintains a staff of OEM experienced field engineers who provide installation, technical support, advanced troubleshooting, training, and consulting services for gas turbine controls, generator excitation, and turbine auxiliary systems. Capabilities also include Turbine System Enhancements to improve system performance and  Turbine Control Retrofits.

Lastly, MD&A can defend your interests during an acceptance test by verifying that tests are performed accurately, according to terms, and as defined in the test codes.
