During the GE® roundtable on Wednesday 9/14, MD&A expert Andrew Koonce of our Parts Division will give a presentation on “Gas Turbine Compressor Upgrades.”

Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis (MD&A) has developed upgraded solutions for compressor blading and vane components for frame 7EA and 7FA gas turbines due to known operational issues that have occurred. The MD&A presentation will focus on explaining the known issues and the upgraded solutions to minimize occurrence of these issues in the future. The upgraded solutions consist of geometry, material, coating, and processing improvements. Not only does MD&A offer OEM package equivalent upgrades, but additional upgrade options are available for many of the components to improve the design for better performance or longer life of the 7EA and 7FA frames. For the best solutions, MD&A evaluates each plant to determine if an OEM package equivalent solution is optimal, or a custom solution would be preferred based on the needs of the customer.
