Background
I began my career with General Electric® (GE®) as a Gas Turbine Maintenance Mechanical Engineer. In this role, I was responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of GE gas turbine fleets by executing, supervising, and troubleshooting maintenance activities, repairs, and installations. I provided technical guidance to site teams, analyzed performance data to support operational decisions, and led or supported field service activities, often requiring extensive travel to power plant sites and strict adherence to safety protocols. In 2022, I joined Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis (MD&A) as a Lead Field Engineer, where I continue to support turbine maintenance and outage execution at the highest technical and safety standards.
What do you do here at MD&A? What aspect do you enjoy most about your role at MD&A?
I am a Gas Turbine Maintenance Technical Director/Field Engineer. I enjoy traveling to various sites and troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely manner. My role requires a lot of pre-planning and execution, which I enjoy.
What is one of the most complex or interesting gas turbine projects you’ve worked on at MD&A?
Replacing isomode pads on a 7A6 generator was one of the complex scopes I completed at MD&A. It required removing the generator enclosure and jacking up the stator to replace the isomode pads.
How does MD&A prioritize safety and efficiency during gas turbine outages?
At MD&A, safety is the first and most critical priority in every gas turbine outage. It is embedded in our planning, execution, and decision-making processes from start to finish. We ensure that both our field teams and our customers are fully supported by providing the necessary resources, technical expertise, and real-time guidance throughout the outage. By combining thorough preparation, clear communication, and strong field support, we are able to maintain the highest safety standards while executing outages efficiently and delivering quality results.
What’s one thing you wish more customers knew about gas turbine maintenance and performance optimization?
Small performance losses compound into very large financial losses over time.
Why did you choose to work for MD&A and why have you continued to choose to work at MD&A? How would you describe our company culture?
I was referred to MD&A by a colleague who spoke highly of the company’s culture. He emphasized that MD&A genuinely cares about its employees, leadership is accessible, responsive, and committed to listening and making meaningful improvements when needed. Since joining, I’ve experienced a culture strongly rooted in safety and quality. The team ensures that field personnel are fully supported with the necessary resources and are available around the clock for technical or operational assistance.
