Bearing Ball Ring Repairs

Steam and gas turbine bearings are commonly secured by a spherically mounted ring. The interference fit between this ring and bearing ball can become compromised from harsh operating conditions or from a history of poor bearing refurbishment practices. MD&A’s quality control process ensures the condition and size of every bearing OD is maintained through the re-babbitting process. MD&A offers complete restoration to the spherical fit and can perform pinch, contact, and torque checks to ensure proper assembly on site. This restoration is recommended for every Bearing received with a small, out-of-round, or fretted OD with minimal outage impact.
