Quality NDE* Engineer – Repair Services, St Louis MO
Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis Ltd. (MD&A), a world class supplier for power generation maintenance services, repairs and parts in the Power industry, has immediate openings in its St. Louis Turbine Repair facility for qualified individuals who have the desire to join a growing organization and an appetite for diverse and technically challenging work.The Steam Turbine Repairs business is seeking an NDE (*Non Destructive Examiner) Engineer to provide oversight, review, and direction to all Repairs NDE work and support the Quality initiatives and programs of the Repair Services Division and technical support for Quality Engineering projects. Full Relocation assistance available.
The NDE Engineer will perform Audits and review critical NDE work being performed in the Repairs facility by NDE contractors to assure proper methods are used and accuracy achieved. Provides input and direction to NDE contractors to meet MD&A NDE Specification requirements. Perform NDE inspections (i.e. magnetic particle inspection & penetrant testing) on parts and assemblies in the St. Louis Repairs facility, as required.
Perform Gage Calibration instruments, gages and equipment to meet established conformance standards.
Quality Control Improvement initiatives supporting Steam Path, Generator and Machining Services operations by performing incoming/receiving inspections, in-process inspections and final inspections on repair work performed at the Document Development – Support Quality Engineering by gathering data for the development of various documents (i.e. procedures, instruction sheets, check sheets, forms, etc.) within the St. Louis Repairs facility.
Requires 3-5 years of experience in NDE of turbine generator components. Utilizes instructions, pre-established guidelines, and general supervision to effectively perform the functions of the job.
Demonstrated knowledgeable with all applicable NDE equipment, measuring instruments, and good Quality practices. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Access. Previous experience with Quality Assurance (ISO or Nuclear requirements) and the Power Industry is a plus.
Ability to effectively perform and contribute in a team environment while performing multiple tasks. Effective written & verbal communication skills. Good organizational skills.
Engineering degree preferred. ASNT NDT Level II Certification (or equivalent).
