Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis LLC (MD&A), one of the largest independent turbine repair organizations in the U.S., is seeking a self-motivated and talented individual to fill the role of IT Microsoft Systems Administrator. This position is based in our Latham, NY Headquarters.


The IT Microsoft Systems Administrator role will primarily focus on Microsoft cloud technologies. They will fulfill the role of Subject Matter Expert on Microsoft 365 and Azure-based technologies. In that capacity they will engage with all layers of the business to assist with adoption of best-practices and modern-workplace methodologies.


The IT Microsoft Systems Administrator will have the following responsibilities:

  • Function as SME for M365 platform by assessing business needs and recommending best-practice solutions to IT and Business leaders
  • Provide all levels of support for M365 applications including but not limited to:
    • Enterprise Apps
    • Hybrid and Exchange Online
    • Microsoft Teams, Teams PSTN calling, and Rooms
    • Power Platform
    • SharePoint Online
  • Act as escalation point for Microsoft cloud services within the IT department
  • Document M365 solutions, processes, and procedures for both end-user and Admin audiences
  • Conduct end-user training on how to gain the most efficiency from the Microsoft 365 platform
  • Administration of Azure Active Directory
  • Administration of Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions including but limited to:
    • Azure Firewall
    • Express Route
    • Azure SQL
    • Windows VM’s
  • Migrate legacy technologies using Microsoft native, or 3rd party tools as needed.


This role may also be tasked with traditional System Administration functions such as:

  • Implementation of new IT Systems solutions using commercially available hardware and software
  • Administration of modern technologies such as:
    • Active Directory Domain and Group Policy
    • Windows Server
    • Windows Server Clustering
    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • VMware ESXi server virtualization
    • NetApp Enterprise Storage Systems
    • Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop environments
    • Citrix ADC
    • Miscellaneous business applications
  • Execute hardware and software deployment projects
  • Maintain accurate hardware/software audit and inventory
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and best practices
  • Create step by step user guides and/or instructions as needed
  • Other relevant tasks assigned by IT Director


Additional Considerations:

  • After-hours work will be required, where appropriate, to support reduced business hours impact when foundational technology changes occur
  • Travel will be required to various manufacturing facilities throughout the US (estimated less than 25% travel annually)
  • Participate in On-Call rotation as escalation point to Service Desk staff and automated system monitoring
  • Position is hybrid-work eligible after 6-months of employment in good standing



  • 5-7 years’ experience in systems administrator or similar role
  • 5+ experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure technologies
  • PowerShell experience required
  • Demonstrated continued professional growth and development
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Certifications preferred (any)
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
