Job Title: Accountant

Job Location: MD&A Repairs Division – St. Louis

The Repairs Division is seeking an experienced Accountant to support our growing business at our St. Louis steam turbine and generator repair facility. Our new Accountant will provide helpful support and analysis to our accounting and operations teams. This position will not require travel.

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:

  • Project controlling and reporting
  • Analyze P&L and B/S on a regular basis. Search for potential mis-postings. Monitor unreconciled balances and communicate with the accounting team on clearing outstanding positions. Post adjusting journal entries as appropriate.
  • Support inter-division cost transfers;
  • Review and approve Accounts Receivable, issue invoices/credit memos as needed;
  • Support the month-end close process;
  • Provide the Accounts Payable team with GR/IR support, control open PO’s;
  • Preparing budgets;
  • Revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606;
  • Identify risks and areas of improvement in internal processes and controls;

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Master’s or MBA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience. 10 year’s experience preferred;
  • CPA preferred but not required;
  • Strong analytical mindset;
  • Self-identifies areas of need and takes initiative;
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP;
  • Previous experience in big four accounting a plus;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Experience using an ERP system such as Epicor or SAP;
