MD&A provides comprehensive refurbishment of large utility generator stators and fields, including high voltage bushing refurbishment and the complete rewinding of inner liquid-cooled generators. Our generator specialists conduct full scope electrical testing, visual inspections and specialty tests as per customer requirements.

  • Stator Repair

    MD&A provides turnkey services for water-cooled, hydrogen-cooled, and conventionally-cooled generators. We providing complete turnkey inner liquid-cooled stator rewinds on a short-cycle basis. Our ability to provide new liquid-cooled bars, global clip replacements using the MD&A Two-Piece Clip and comprehensive testing has made us one of the fastest growing turbine-generator engineering organizations in the United States.

  • Field Services

    MD&A provides all necessary equipment, materials and trained personnel needed to provide exceptional repair service of generating fields up to 1300 MW. We maintain a full-time staff of winders and technicians, many of whom are factory-trained. We offer turnkey testing and inspection services and maintain a state-of-the-art clean room at our Turbine-Generator Repair Facility located in St. Louis, Missouri.

  • Generator Testing & Inspections

    MD&A's generator specialists perform a comprehensive series of tests and inspections on both field and stator components. Machines are subjected to both electrical tests and visual inspections, some of which must be conducted with the generator field removed and others that can be conducted while the field is still in place. The goal of our Generator Specialist is to compile the results from a series of applicable tests that collectively help you make decisions about the necessity and priority of repairs.

  • Stator Bar Water Leaks (TIL-1098)

    The patented MD&A Two-Piece Clip, by design, addresses all known leakage and porosity issues with General Electric’s water-cooled stator bars as stated in Technical Information Letter 1098 (TIL-1098). The patented two-piece clip eliminates cast components and therefore concerns associated with future porosity issues. Our design allows for crevice-free brazes that virtually eliminate the possibility of any post-repair crevice corrosion issues.

  • Rotor Slot Dovetail Repair (TIL-1292)

    MD&A provides a permanent and economical solution for addressing the potential fretting or cracking of generator rotor slot dovetail surfaces.  The inspection and repairs can be conducted either at your plant or in our centrally located Turbine-Generator Repair Facility located in St. Louis, Missouri.

  • HV Bushings & Auxiliaries

    MD&A provides turbine-generator owners with the engineering know-how to test, analyze and resolve bushing operation and failure problems. We maintain both the tooling and facilities necessary to disassemble, clean, repair, and recondition or newly manufacturer multiple high-voltage bushings, simultaneously.
