Owners of both reaction and impulse design steam turbines are continually seeking ways to improve unit efficiency. New steam turbine packing and seals can dramatically affect steam turbine performance. We supply conventional packing and spills as well as patented Guardian® packing and Vortex Shedder® seals.

  • Guardian® Packing

    Turbo Parts offers the patented advanced design Guardian® packing ring. The Guardian® provides sustained seal performance between overhauls while protecting the shaft and seal teeth from transient events. The Guardian® can be installed in the HP, IP, LP turbine sections as well as the gland seal areas of any steam turbine without modification to the unit.

  • Vortex Shedder® Spill Strips

    Turbo Parts offers the patented advanced design Vortex Shedder® spill strip. The Vortex Shedder® incorporates an aerodynamic geometry to reduce the leakage flow while improving stage heat rate performance. Whether the steam path design is impulse, reaction, or a combination of both, the vortex can have a significant improvement on stage efficiency above original design.

  • Conventional Packing & Spill Strips

    Turbo Parts is a premier manufacturer of conventional design seals for all makes of steam turbines. TPL can provide conventional design shaft packing, gland packing, spring back seals, J-strip, caulked-in seals, and diaphragm packing to name a few. Our extensive technical library provides us the ability to manufacture to OEM specifications and tolerances. TPL stocks bronze, stainless steel, and 2 ¼ chrome raw material for a readiness to serve our customer base. TPL can also provide full reverse engineering for any type of steam turbine seal to support manufacturing.

  • Custom Seal Installation

    Turbo Parts LLC, a division of Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis, has been providing high-quality turbine-generator components to the power generation industry for more than two decades.  Our patented Guardian® packing rings and Vortex Shedder® spills, as well as our conventional steam turbine packing, are custom installed by trained Turbo Parts staff.  We provide all the necessary machine tooling and technical experience necessary to insure a trouble free installation.
